Our goal is a forever home where animals in our care can experience a happy ever after!
If you haven’t already, take some time to research the care & needs of the species of animal you are interested in adopting. There are many excellent online resources, which we’ve curated on our care page.
Please keep in mind that not all available animals are posted. For information on available animals please send an email to adoptions@raticalrodentrescue.org or call us at 650-516-RATS (650-516-7287).
If you are interested in adopting a small animal companion, please complete our online adoption application.
After we receive your completed questionnaire we will attempt to contact you within 72 hours to make an appointment.
If you are looking for a companion for an animal you already have at home, please let us know and bring the animal with you to your adoption appointment. We prefer that all members of the household (including other pets that will be interacting with the new adoptees) are present during the adoption process to ensure that everyone gets along. We can assist with bondings and advise on behaviors as well to assist with introductions, transition, and the ultimate happiness and welfare of your companions!
Once you & the adoption volunteer have found a great match, we will complete the adoption contract which includes stipulations that
- You will provide safe, suitable housing and quality food.
- You will provide veterinary care.
- You will not breed the animal.
- The animal will be treated humanely.
- If you are unable to care for the animal for any reason, it is to be returned to Ratical Rodent Rescue.
Don’t forget to bring a carrier with you to safely transport your new family member home!

Adoption Fees
Ratical Rodent Rescue is an independent, nonprofit organization. The fees for adopting animals allow us to provide food, shelter, and medical care for the animals in our care.
